finding neverland: here i always touch the tree leaves, 2014 – 2015

19 August – 13 September 2015
orangery in the garden of the Břevnov monastery
medium: installation / model of the square M 1:100 and tablet

The title of the artwork Here I always touch the tree leaves refers to the personal experience of the public space, when the space which we share with others has a unique personal meaning for us. The exhibited model is based on the research of the Zizkovo namesti in Prage which included interviews with the students of local art school. Subconscious relationship and emotional perception of the space was analysed through semantic and synthetic mental maps, which depict overlapping personal psycho-geography. The resulting model is a conceptual design of a solution that would strengthen the potential of the place for leisure activities of students, as is in the example of circular path, which is perceived as a purposeful and functional path to the bus stop but also as a place for recreational walking and hanging around.
